Hello, I'm Olivia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in the grand plan. Like many expatriate moves, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. But gradually, routines settled in. We discovered places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built BequaMirolyn
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site isn’t:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United Kingdom goes on, and the learning journey continues as well. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Olivia
